Join Midlands Cyber Security Cluster’s virtual event for a rare insight into how Manufacturing firms can secure their supply chains and prevent cyber attack. Between 6 – 7:30pm on the 15th February 2022, The Cluster will welcome expert speakers from several leading organisations, including MakeUK, The IASME Consortium and Coventry University offering guidance and practical support to the UK’s growing SME manufacturing network.

For Midlands Cyber’s debut event of 2022, attendees have the opportunity to hear from a range of industry experts, from academia driving the research and development of future digital security solutions, to companies on the front line of supply-chain assurance. In the past 2 years there has been increasing numbers of manufacturing supply chain attacks, this growing risk has lead to 43% of manufacturers being asked by their customer base to show evidence of a cyber security plan or guarantee robust cyber security measures, before conducting business with them. The Keynote Speakers will provide great insights to manufacturers on how to effectively protect assets and IP from the growing threat of Cybercrime, along with the importance of supply chain assurance and certification.

‘Secure by Design – Advanced Manufacturing’ will feature three keynote sessions, followed by an open Q&A. Attendees can gain insight from a host of industry experts; Martin Duffy, IoT Security Certification Manager at The IASME Consortium, will present ‘The value of Cyber Security Certification’. As a government contractor, Martin will offer real life case studies detailing the need for manufacturing firms to secure their assets in order to protect their business ventures. Attendees can also expect to hear from Academic Partner and second Keynote Speaker Professor Siraj Shaikh, Professor of Systems Security and Director at the Centre for Future Transport and Cities (CFTC) at Coventry University. Siraj will present findings from a recent report on Economic and Consumer Chain Analysis of Secure Hardware Adoption. Aaron Maran, Policy Manager Focusing specifically on Cyber Security, Skills and International Trade policy at Make UK, will contextualise the event, rounding off the programme with his presentation on: ‘Supply Chain Resilience Post Pandemic’.

All three speakers’ complement each other and truly offer a well rounded perspective to SME’s on managing security under the increased threat of modern cyber-attack.
