Midlands Cyber Security Cluster are thrilled to announce the date of their first non-virtual networking event since 2019; The NEC Security Show on 7th – 9th September 2021. Not only is the event the first opportunity to promote Midlands Cyber following their brand relaunch, the cluster will represent their involvement in the newly created UK Cyber Cluster Collaboration (UKC3) alongside cluster representatives from across the UK.

The Cluster Collaboration was established by the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) in the spring of 2021 to help cyber security businesses build partnerships and programmes which break down barriers to sector growth, such as skills gaps and a lack of business support. The collaboration aims to provide a national focal point for the sector, encouraging industry stakeholders to engage with their own regional clusters and furthering the key aims of local cyber firms. As a result, the principle themes represented at the event are Innovation, Skills and Growth.

In their mission to unite the UK cyber industry, Midlands Cyber are pleased to have been awarded the responsibility of national lead on the innovation theme on the UKC3 board. Cluster Lead Linda Smith spoke of her hopes to promote sector growth through Midlands Cyber’s new responsibility ‘Midlands Cyber have an established history of encouraging tech and cyber innovation, based in the UK’s manufacturing heartland. Midlands Cyber cluster has a longstanding link to advancements in technology and manufacturing’.

Both the collaboration and Midlands Cyber Cluster strive to increase the UKs industry offer and create an international hotspot of security excellence in the UK. The cluster relish the opportunity to represent the DCMS agenda this September at NEC Birmingham and welcome Cyber firms in the Midlands to visit them on stand 3/E32.

Midlands Cyber are seeking new industry connections. For more information on events and opportunities to grow your cyber or tech business join the free network now below!
