Midlands Cyber is proud to support NCC Group in promoting its newly refreshed Consultant Accelerator Programme (CAP)—an exciting opportunity designed to help the next generation of cyber professionals launch successful careers in cyber consulting.

As the cyber sector continues to face a growing skills challenge, programmes like CAP play an important role in creating accessible pathways into the industry while developing the practical skills businesses and organisations need across the UK cyber ecosystem.

What is the Consultant Accelerator Programme?

The Consultant Accelerator Programme (CAP) is an intensive 4-month development programme designed for individuals looking to start a career in cyber consulting or transition from another professional background into cyber security.

Developed by NCC Group’s Consulting and Implementation practice, the programme combines technical learning with real-world consulting experience through:

  • Instructor-led classroom training
  • Real-world project shadowing
  • Mentoring and buddy support
  • Client engagement experience
  • Industry-recognised qualifications
  • Specialist learning in AI and digital consulting

Participants who successfully complete the programme graduate at Associate Consultant level, equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to begin a long-term career in cyber security consulting.

Who is the Programme For?

One of the strongest aspects of CAP is its accessibility. There are no formal prerequisites to apply—just:

  • A genuine interest in cyber security
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm to learn
  • Commitment to an intensive development programme

While previous experience in cyber, technology, or digital roles may be beneficial, the programme is specifically designed to support career changers, graduates, and emerging talent looking to break into the cyber sector.

Why This Matters for the Midlands

At Midlands Cyber, one of our core priorities is supporting cyber skills development, talent pipelines, and creating clearer pathways into the cyber sector.

Partnerships like this with NCC Group help strengthen the UK cyber ecosystem while opening opportunities for individuals across the Midlands and beyond to access world-class training, mentoring, and career progression.

As demand for cyber professionals continues to grow across consultancy, defence, critical infrastructure, supply chain security, and digital transformation, programmes like CAP provide an important route into the industry.

How to Apply

The application process includes:

  1. Online application submission
  2. Formal interview with programme leadership
  3. Presentation exercise and technical assessment

Interviews are scheduled to take place in person, with locations including London, Manchester, and Cheltenham.
