Birmingham Tech Week: CyberVerse & Cyber Social Fringe Event Recap
27 Oct 2025
Birmingham Tech Week has officially wrapped up, and what an incredible week it was for the Midlands cyber community! Two standout moments for us were CyberVerse and our very own Cyber Social Fringe Event.
CyberVerse: Exploring Inclusive and Accessible Cyber:
Midlands Cyber was proud to support CyberVerse and host the afternoon session. One of the key moments was a thought-provoking panel discussion on inclusive and accessible cyber, chaired by Michelle Ohren MA. The panel featured industry leaders Marc Avery – FCIIS, Holly Foxcroft, Anitha Chinnaswamy, and our Cluster Manager, Ryan Protheroe.
The discussion explored how organisations can balance accessibility with security; a challenge that impacts every part of the cyber ecosystem. The energy and engagement in the room reflected just how important this topic is for our sector.
Cyber Social Fringe Event: Building Connections That Matter
Later that evening, Midlands Cyber hosted the Cyber Social Fringe Event at St Philips Chambers, in collaboration with Cyber Chain Alliance, CyberQ Group, and HCR Law. It was an evening dedicated to networking, collaboration, and strengthening relationships within the cyber community. It was made even better with pizza and drinks!
The atmosphere was vibrant and full of energy, showcasing how far the Midlands cyber ecosystem has come in recent years. Today, it’s a thriving, collaborative network and we’re proud to play a role in its growth.
