Midlands Cyber Cluster Welcomes Howard County Delegation to Strengthen Transatlantic Cybersecurity Partnerships

On Monday 28th October, Midlands Cyber had the privilege of hosting a delegation from Howard County Government, Maryland, USA, led by key officials and industry leaders committed to fostering international collaboration.
This visit underscored the strength of our long-standing MoU with the Maryland Department of Commerce and provided an excellent platform to explore shared challenges and opportunities in the ever-evolving world of cybersecurity.
Hosted in part by Anitha Chinnaswamy and Aston University, the delegation was introduced to the innovative research and development underway at the Aston University Cyber Security Innovation Research Centre. This leading-edge facility is dedicated to advancing cybersecurity solutions and fostering digital skills across the Midlands, positioning Aston University as a key player in the region's vibrant tech ecosystem.
As part of the visit, the delegation also toured STEAMhouse, a unique and collaborative space that drives cross-sector innovation. STEAMhouse combines insights from the technology and creative industries, providing an inspiring backdrop for envisioning the future of digital and creative innovation. Aston University’s commitment to supporting emerging tech and digital skill development made it the ideal setting to demonstrate the Midlands’ dedication to building a robust cybersecurity landscape.
Through discussions and strategic exchanges, Midlands Cyber and Maryland's representatives explored ways to forge transatlantic partnerships that will drive innovation, stimulate business growth, and enhance cybersecurity resilience on both sides of the Atlantic.
